William E. Stoner graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wittenberg
University in 1978 with a B.S. degree in Economics and
Accounting. He earned his Juris Doctor from Duke University
in 1981 where he was a member of the Duke Law Journal
editorial board from 1980-81. He was admitted to the California
State Bar in 1981 and the Illinois State Bar in 1982.
Mr. Stoner began his legal career as a litigation associate
with the law firm of Lillick McHose & Charles (now
Pillsbury Winthrop LLP) and became a full
equity partner in 1987. He left Pillsbury in 2000 to join
Hennigan Bennett & Dorman LLP, a nationally recognized
litigation firm based in Los Angeles. While at the Pillsbury
Winthrop and Hennigan Bennett Dorman firms, Mr. Stoner
specialized in complex commercial litigation and his practice
included cases involving emerging companies, securities,
contracts, intellectual property, business torts, real
estate litigation and employment disputes. Mr. Stoner
passed the CPA exam the summer between college and law
school and uses his accounting and economics background
effectively in his commercial litigation practice. He
is a member of the American Bar Association, Los Angeles
County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association,
State Bar of California, and Association of Business Trial
Lawyers.
Mr. Stoner is an avid skier, aspiring golfer, youth softball
coach, and lives with his wife and four children in La
Canada, California.
